Policy For The People

Cambridge, United States

I have enjoyed two professions: in career development at Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, and Yale University, following a substantial career in publishing (literary trade, textbooks, academic journals). I'm fascinated by organizational structures, strategic planning, and stories. I've enjoyed the opportunity to study these experiences and interests as a student while completing a master's degree in Organizational Dynamics at Penn--a program that "enables and supports development of the important blend of creative and innovative thinking with practical and strategic tools." My interests and experiences are broad (with large and small, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations), enabling me to help others discern their stories of their professional lives and career goals, or of their creative or academic writing. Both have the power to change organizations and change the world. As a career coach I specialize in working with university students (graduate and undergraduate) and alumni who are exploring career options, developing networks, gaining experience, and seeking employment. At Harvard, I am a career coach for MPP and MPA students at the Kennedy School. At Penn I worked with undergraduates and alumni in the College of Arts & Sciences and the Wharton School, and with undergraduate and master's students in the School of Engineering & Applied Science. I was part of the Graduate-Student Career Development team at Columbia, where I advised master's and PhD students and alumni in Arts & Sciences, Engineering, the Arts, Architecture, and Continuing Education. In my position as a career counselor for the undergraduate college at Yale University, I advised students and alumni. My undergraduate degree in International Studies originally led me to graduate work in Russian History, which I still appreciate although I have not pursued it professionally. Both inform my continuing interest in global issues.

Partnering with outplacement firms, I support employees affected by layoffs, from recent graduates to C‑suite executives through career transitions with confidence, clarity, and measurable results. By combining AI-enabled tools with neuroscience-informed coaching strategies, I help impacted professionals quickly refine resumes, optimize LinkedIn profiles, prepare for interviews, and navigate offers while delivering scalable, high-quality coaching that eases organizational change and protects employer brand. Selected by leading outplacement and reemployment providers as a trusted implementation partner, I manage high-volume, high-touch coaching programs tied to layoff and redeployment contracts, including workforce transitions, on-site and virtual notifications, and multi-client engagements that demand precision, discretion, and compassionate follow-through. I also design and deliver neuroscience-based strategies for coaching clients, translating brain science into practical tools for resilience, decision-making, and performance. In addition, I create and facilitate ICF-informed coach training specifically for other coaches who want to integrate neuroscience strategies into their practice so they can better serve their own clients with ethical, evidence-aligned approaches. How I empower clients. * Clarify career goals and target roles using AI based skills mapping and neuroscience informed decisions. * Optimize resumes and LinkedIn profiles for recruiter review and ATS screening. * Prepare for interviews and offer negotiation using behavioral data. * Apply AI frameworks to improve job search efficiency while keeping coaching personal. Recognition & Thought Leadership: Published authority in career development, blending thought leadership with practical, results-driven strategies. I help clients transition, succeed, and advance in competitive markets using a mix of technology, science, and human-centered coaching. If you’re an outplacement firm seeking inno
