I’m a PGT Economics and Business Studies teacher with over six years of experience working with senior secondary students. Skilled in Classroom Management, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, and Public Speaking. At heart, I’m someone who believes that education should spark curiosity, confidence, and ambition — not just good grades. In my classroom, you’ll find more than just textbooks and lectures. I rely on Activity-based teaching, Group presentations, and Mind Maps to make learning interactive and meaningful. My aim is to help students not just understand concepts, but see how they connect to the world around them.Alongside teaching, I’m also a Career Coach — supporting students in finding clarity about their future. Whether it’s helping with Scholarship Applications, Tier 1 University Admissions, or Personality Development, I love being a sounding board and guide during one of the most important phases of their lives.Beyond academics, I contribute to the school's day-to-day functioning — from handling Morning Arrangements and Substitution Duties to offering one-on-one Mentoring Support. These roles have shaped me into a more mindful educator and team player.Looking ahead, I hope to grow into Educational Leadership, where I can build student-centered programs, support fellow teachers, and lead initiatives that prepare young people for life beyond school.

"Life is not meaningful unless devoting it to children"; my motivation & inspiration to live my life by. Unintentionally, travelling through a lifetime of working with children about sums up my efforts, whether volunteer or professional. Going to college after high-school, changing majors at least five times, but always with a focus of helping youth. Every experience mattered and seemed to lead to my professional journey as Career Coach, the perfect place for me with purpose. True believer in "happenstance", as I moved from being Field Executive with Chesapeake Bay Girl Scout Council of Wilmington, to Program Director at Talbot County YMCA, to staying home to raise three children, tennis instructor for years, founder of Dorchester County Swim Team, Substitute Teacher for Dorchester County Public Schools (experience that led me to (so far) 27 years of public education), to Media Specialist, to Career Coach. Believer in "it's never too late to find your niche in the world"... I have found my place, the perfect position where I can impact students' lives. Helping students discover their own talents and skills which will lead them to happy, successful lives is my purpose. Being creative, thinking outside of the box, and having enough confidence in myself and my goals doesn't hurt when initiating program development to help kids find their way & pathway, especially while navigating the "murky waters of Career Coaching". What I have I learned in 65 years of living? Every single, solitary experience one has in life influences your pathway, sometimes in the smallest way, sometimes in the most magnificent way. Example: one semester in 1980 serving as Recreation Specialist Intern at Maple Shade Residential Boys' Home, made me discover my love for "making a real difference". Happenstance gave me opportunities that I could have turned my back on, but I didn't....even some, I may have wanted to, but I didn't. Stubbornness and being partly Portuguese, and that internal drive to p

Since an early age I have always enjoyed working in fields dedicated to the community and helping people. Starting out by working with young children as a day camp counselor at 16 to my current role as a Career Coach, I have always found myself working to help others. Positions that include College Baseball Coach, Physical Education Teacher, Residential Glass Manager of a local glass shop to my current role of educating inner city students to the many alternative career pathways that can be used to be successful in life. One of my favorite quotes is, "It's not the majority or the minority, it's the individual that will bring change to a community." I believe I have done a pretty good job of bringing change to our community and I look to continue to do so for a long time to come.
