Hi there! I'm a certified career coach with over seven years of experience in the Public Service as a career coach. Having coached more than 1500 clients from diverse backgrounds and professions, I have developed a coaching approach grounded in various methodologies, including the VIPS, RIASEC, Point of You, Epitome, Workplace Big Five and Knowdell Card Sort among many others. Before transitioning into the career coaching space, I spent more than a decade working in business development across the region and managing the career office at an Australian university. These experiences have given me a unique perspective and skill set that I bring to my coaching practice. As a coach, I have facilitated workshops on resume customization, interview preparation, and currently, LinkedIn for successful job search. I am proud to have received the Great Service Award in 2021 and 2024, and POINTE award, which aligns with the organization's core values, as well as an appreciation plaque from the Ministry of Manpower. In my free time, I enjoy running and reading. I find that running helps me stay focused and energized, and have achieved personal bests in several 5K events. As an avid reader, I enjoy a range of genres and find that reading helps me stay informed and intellectually curious. My ultimate career goal is to continue to touch lives and inspire positive change through the sharpening of my coaching skills, and to explore new opportunities for growth and development.I welcome you to email me at joey_kang@hotmail.com.

I became a career coach because I was in a transition and completely unprepared. A stay-at-home mother, my youngest about to enter high school: my “Now what?” hit me hard because I had no idea what I was going to do with my life. Lacking purpose, in a constant state of anxiety, there were no career coaches to speak to. Motivated to work, I pursued the only way I knew by contacting employment agencies, only to discover I was in the same category as recent college graduates; my options were limited to administrative support because I lacked definable hard skills. I deferred graduate school to work, and then I became a multi-tasking mother. When I wanted to jump back in, I felt I was in a job search going nowhere, and I didn’t know who I was. I also discovered I am really not the corporate type. So, what type was I, and why did my options seem so limited? I applied and was accepted into the College Counseling and Student Development program at Hunter College on a whim. I decided to design my learning curriculum and was drawn to Career Development. The coaching industry was emerging, and I had the remarkable fortune of finding Barry Lustig, a walking encyclopedia of everything career coaching. Insights from my MBTI results led me to clarity, focus, and purpose at last. Fast forward 23 amazing years, and I’ve had the pleasure of working with thousands of people who needed clarity and my help identifying career drivers, aligning values, and interviewing well. I introduce my clients to their remarkable self. I help them stop circling and show them how to stand out get on that path of professional success. * “Gladys Kartin is a fantastic, knowledgeable, intuitive career coach. She asked me to take a 'good look at myself.”
 * “Gladys is an excellent career coach. She was able to get to the crux of my message in just a few minutes of conversation.”
 * “She helped me think about interviewing in a new way that truly inspired confidence...and ultimately got me the
