Career Insiders
San Francisco, United States
I help mid- to senior-level professionals land their next role and companies guide employees through transitions, strategically, confidently, and with accountability. “Mauri, I can say with absolute conviction that I would not have this job without you. Your advice made all the difference. Your methodology, tools, and especially your accountability were game-changing.” I founded Career Insiders to provide individuals and organizations with personalized career coaching, executive outplacement support, and strategic branding that delivers real results. I work with companies providing workforce transition programs and with professionals navigating career pivots, job searches, and career transitions. My approach is structured and hands-on. I help clients clarify goals, translate accomplishments into compelling personal brands, and act as an accountability partner to keep them focused, moving forward, and executing at every stage of the process. I’m known as a persuasive communicator who can engage everyone from CEOs to frontline professionals, a natural connector and trusted advisor who builds lasting, strategic relationships, and a resourceful, persistent problem-solver determined to find the needle in the haystack. My background spans technology, business, and recruiting. After finishing my degree in Math at Tulane, I began my career at IBM developing software for the U.S. Navy’s most advanced submarines, earned an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and recruited technology professionals across roles, levels, and industries. An Alabama native with Louisiana roots, I’ve called San Francisco home for many years and hang out just minutes from where my beloved SF Giants play. Reach out if you’re a professional ready for a purposeful career move or a company supporting employees through transition. I work best with those who value action, accountability, and results.

Communication isn't a soft skill, it's an essential skill. If I had to sum up my career in 1 sentence, it's been about messaging and creating engaging experiences. As a window display designer, I learned how to get a message across in seconds. As a book publicist, I crafted stories that captured attention. As a project manager, I learned how to tailor communication for the needs of different audiences. Now I help individuals and teams get their message across in meetings, presentations and difficult conversations. Learn to confidently speak in public, manage conflict and lead. Join me in the Confident Communication Accelerator which combines all my experience as a project manager and creative to make communication simple and fun. I am, and have always been, an artist. | I am, and have always been, a teacher. As someone who completed their academic path later than most, I understand the unique needs of students who are entering paths without clear job prospects, and my goal is to help them find their own path, whether that be traditional or weird. I encourage them to be open, because the right path might not be anything they ever considered, and they may find it hidden in plain sight. As someone who finished their academic path halfway through life, I understand the financial and life disruptions facing many students. I work with them to help them minimize the risks they have to just finish, and seek to help them complete whatever educational goals they have, and perhaps help them to develop those goals along the way. In every interaction with students, I encourage them to be who they are, whatever that means to them. As someone who was actively discouraged from following any dreams I had, I know how toxic it can be for them to try to fit someone else's mold. I encourage each student to shed limitations, whether self-imposed or imposed by others, and grow into the unique and wonderful person they are meant to be. As both a teacher and a student services professional, I serve as a coach to help students discover the answers only they possess. My highest priority is for students to learn how to educate themselves as artists and humans. My goal is to inspire students to grow intellectually and cultivate a life-long curiosity that will help them to lead creative lives regardless of their career choices. Above all, I seek to learn as much from my students as they learn from me.
