My mission is to help clients uncover their true goals, create a plan of action, and support them throughout to find the best job, career, environment possible for their unique path to fulfilling work. I provide clients with: Direction, Insight, Support, Strategies, Accountability and a Sounding Board. With more than two decades of experience, I work extensively with clients in the legal field but also with college/grad school students and other professionals who would benefit from working with a career coach. I combine my counseling training and professional experience to help clients in all aspects of career exploration, job search and career success. During my time as Director of Recruiting at an AmLaw 50 firm, I managed recruiting, hiring, and the summer associate program. As such, I was privy to the inner workings of the firm and what led to interviewing success as well as lawyer success in the BigLaw world. As Director of Law Career Development at two DC law schools, I helped law students and lawyers navigate every phase of career development, from exploring options to negotiating salary to creating a path to success. Working at the law schools provided a great deal of insight into the business of law schools and the impact that has on how they recruit, what they teach and how they support alumni. Please reach out if I can be of help!

As a former NCAA collegiate basketball and volleyball player, I could not fathom succeeding without my coaches. My coaches: * taught me valuable skills, * supported me through setbacks, * challenged me to get out of my comfort zone, and * inspired me to pursue my full potential. **So why did it take me so long to recognize the value a coach could have in my career? In 9th grade, I committed to a career as a biology professor and tunnel-visioned my whole way through the journey. High school, college, straight into a Masters and a PhD, graduating early to accept my dream job as a teaching professor. And then it hit me (x2) – kids. How could I be the parent I wanted to be while keeping my dream job that was 1+ hour drive away? The career exploration I should have done in high school and college never happened and I didn’t have the option of being a professor elsewhere (a consequence of rural, country living). And that’s when the world of career coaching & consulting was unveiled to me. There are professionals trained to help you: * clarify your professional brand * explore career options that align with that brand * develop a plan to achieve your career goals * craft compelling applications and prepare for interviews, and * maximize your career success and growth And then I realized, wait, I have done all of these things with my undergraduate students, field assistants, peers, and colleagues and not only enjoyed it, but was pretty good at it! So long story short, I got certified as a professional career coach and launched my own career services business, Success in Science. I've supported 100+ individual clients and 1000+ workshop participants in their career journeys. I've partnered with organizations including NASA, public and private universities, and national nonprofit organizations to design and deliver career development services for scientists at every stage of their journey. Remember, coaches are not just for athletes! You don’t have to (and should

My purpose is to help others discover their professional path(s). As a dedicated Career Services professional, I've exhibited success working with diverse student populations within higher education and education management industries. Highly skilled in career exploration & preparation, team building & facilitation, and an extraordinary ability to connect with individuals to help them find their purpose. In 2016, I was awarded a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education Student Affairs, and I obtained my Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification in 2022. Last, but certainly not least, I'm located in the PNW (although I'll always be a proud Michigander), and in my free time, I go hiking around Mt Hood and the Columbia River Gorge, I enjoy riding motorcycles, brewing (and drinking) craft beer, and spending time with other amazing human beings.
