Lajoia Coleman

I am a naturally nurturing person who enjoys assisting others in recognizing and achieving their goals. Professionally, this has translated to me successfully designing and coordinating learning activities, creating, and developing educational plans and strategies that promote student success. I broadcast a balance of engagement and coaching. During my tenure as a WIOA Youth Specialist and Family Advocate, I fell in love with the experiences that allowed me to offer training and development of youth participants and families and the collaborative efforts involved in constructing an educational plan that was unique to the learner and the identified goals of that individual and family. My ability to connect with diverse populations while recruiting and promoting the various programs highlighted my skills in fostering and maintaining relationships. Further, I honed the necessary talents to provide effective case management while still enabling students, staff, and community members to trust the guidance and information I offered. As such, I am considered a reliable resource for those that I support. Please make note that I am a candidate specifically trained as an educator. Thus, I am uniquely qualified to break down information using various learning styles, facilitate an environment of mutual respect and nonjudgmental, and assist others in bridging the gaps between theory best practice. I can adapt to fast-paced environments and meet and exceed departmental goals without previous knowledge or experience. Additionally, I know this position will benefit from my administrative skills, expertise, and training from long-term volunteer experiences in leadership, content management, and event planning.The depth of experience I can offer is well matched to fit the team’s needs.
