What’s the first thing you are drawn to when meeting someone new? Their eyes, nose, ears? For me, it’s those pearly whites. Teeth, as weird as it sounds, are mesmerizing and vital to everyday life. As an aspiring dentist, I want to help create perfect smiles for each individual. Creating the perfect smile or relieving pain from medical issues in everyday life intrigues me. Sitting in the dental chair from an early age of three to currently shadowing dentists, my desire for dentistry has only grown. Seeing the relief or excitement through their smile after each visit drives me to reach the goal I have set for myself. At the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I am expanding my medical and business knowledge during my undergraduate career in preparation for dental school. This method is quite different from others since it pursues two different professions typically seen in society. While pursuing dentistry, a passion for chemistry has ignited, causing me to add a chemistry minor. Aside from academics, time as a Peer Mentor with the Explore Center and a Campus Host has coincided with my passion for creating positive experiences for those in my presence. Planning to build upon my entrepreneurial spirit, more education within the College of Business will assist in my aspirations of running a personal dental practice.
