While in the Navy, I learned to not only lead a team but also how to function with them on a personal level. Working in such close quarters with others can really develop one's personal communication with others. The years I spent in the military taught me how to organize, prioritize, and execute assignments accordingly; a skill that has positively affected my life after the military. As a warehouse supervisor, I enhanced my sense of time management and customer service. The experience of working with customers was applied to my time as a member of the work-study program. Now, I am attending CSUDH in pursuit of my BA in Recording Arts, and a Mentorship Coach at Cypress College. My position at Cypress was created in order to assist student veterans to adjust to school life and aid them by placing them in contact with mentors relevant to their career goals. Aside from my work at Cypress College, I have also provided various freelance audio services to clientele over the past eight years. Using the skills I learned from my scholastic endeavors, I have been able to arrange and distribute music across international borders, edit songs utilizing a number of digital audio work stations, and setting up and breaking audio equipment for a number of events.
