Career Counselling Services
London, United Kingdom
I am an organisational psychologist and qualified chartered accountant specializing in career management and transition coaching. I am also a bereavement counsellor. My client base includes senior and middle management employees in both the private (primarily financial services) and public sector. Prior to retraining as a psychologist (MSc City University, 2011) I spent 20+ years working in blue chip financial services companies (both in the UK and the US) with experience in accounting, internal and external audit, operational risk, and personnel management. As a result my coaching practice incorporates a practical understanding of the dynamics at play in professionally demanding work environments. I run my own private practice and partner with two London based consultancies: The Career Psychologist, and Career Counselling Services. My particular area of interest is supporting people through periods of change &/or loss (actual or psychological). I understand the impact grief can have on all aspects of a person’s life, including work performance. It can often be the impetus for people to consider change in their lives, including in relation to work. My training and experience as a coach and qualified bereavement counselor ensures a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore and manage their loss, alongside their work and life commitments. Disruption to work performance can be reduced if adequate support is made available. I am a member of the British Psychological Society, the Association for Coaching, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. Coaching expertise includes: Developing effective working relationships, role transition management (e.g. management to leadership, retirement, redundancy), exploring alternate career options and embracing change, building resilience and self-belief, managing grief alongside work and life commitments, presentation and interview skills, psychometric testing and personality profiling.

My professional background in education combined with my work in career development for individuals as well as employers has allowed me to be effective in strategically and proactively meeting employment/workforce needs. One of the most influential/powerful things is helping someone become employed. When an individual goes back to work it impacts the individual, his/her family, local, state and national economy. It is an honor and privledge to be a part of the process when a job seeker goes back to work.
