My entrepreneurship and leadership training started when I was 22 years old and was fortunate enough to own a bar for the next 7 years. During this time I played rugby at the national and international levels and earned my advanced degrees. My business operations experience, PhD training, and time managing clinical trials with Medtronic provided the broad set of skills that I use daily as a medical countermeasures development consultant. Instead of managing bartenders, I lead teams of scientists, engineers, and support staff ranging from 3 to 35. I currently work remotely and continue to test my management skills and grow as a leader by managing employees from a far.
