Dennis has been working in the IT industry for more than 20 years, from supporting end-users to IT consultancy in the Asia Pacific region. All these years, he has been coaching, mentoring and training working professionals, both as part of his professional work and as part of his personal interests too. Back in 2015, he started to volunteer in a social enterprise that helped to mentor and coach experienced PMEs (Professionals, Managers & Executives). The programme helped displaced PMEs get back on their feet and to regain their self confidence. Through the volunteer work, Dennis felt a calling and took up a full time coaching career instead and is now with Workforce Singapore (WSG). Dennis is an Advanced Practitioner in Hope Action Theory and Practice, Certified in Catalyst Career Discovery Toolkit, Certified Career Practitioner (CCP), Strong Interest Inventory Certified and a Job & Career Transition Certified Coach. He's also a Certified Facilitator for My Working Title Career Design. He conducts workshops from Personal Branding to Job Search Strategies, and also train professionals leading to Certification Programmes in Career Development. He continues to motivate and provide directions to working professionals on their career pursuits and to help them obtain clarity on their choices. He also hopes to inspire fellow career practitioners on their certification paths. Dennis is a Recipient of the Pingat Kepujian (The Commendation Medal ) National Day Awards 2024.

I'm passionate about helping individuals achieve “success” on their own terms. As a Results-Trained Coach through the NeuroLeadership Institute, I use brain-based coaching methodologies based on the latest neuroscience research. I'm also a Certified Professional Diversity Coach through CoachDiversity Institute, with a focus on transformational coaching emphasizing issues of equity, diversity, inclusion, power and privilege. My clients include lawyers, business professionals, and non-profit leaders. My diverse work, educational and life experiences provide me with a unique vantage point for understanding multiple client perspectives. I coached at Rotman's Business Edge Program, was previously a corporate lawyer and Director (Student Programs, Alumni Relations) at a large Bay Street law firm, co-founded and managed a walk-in medical clinic, and obtained a Math/Computer Science undergraduate degree prior to law school (I include that because it taught me so much resilience!). One of my defining life experiences was immigrating from Jamaica to Canada at age 10. I've learned so much from my own challenges and opportunities and from working with incredible clients who have traveled their own unique path. My mission is to empower clients to effect positive change in their lives. I help them to clarify and achieve their goals, improve confidence, build better habits, learn new behaviours, improve thinking, and stand in their power. Certified by the International Coach Federation (ICF), the gold standard in coaching and the only globally recognized, independent credentialing program for coach practitioners. I am an insightful HR practitioner and leader; frequently called upon for visionary ideas and solutions. I have often been called a servant leader, leading by example and encourage others to do the same. My previous assignments include leading HR interventions for International NGOs in The Caribbean, talent search in the United States of America, leadership and talent development activities in Southern Africa and providing career coaching and resume writing services to Humanitarians globally. With over 15 years’ experience in the Human Resources field I have partnered with Humanitarian organizations in an advisory capacity and supported Humanitarians in their individual career development plans. I am the Founder and Managing Partner for HUMHR and here is my story:“I used to get lots of requests from friends and friends of friends to review their CV’s and to answer questions on their careers. Which jobs I thought they should apply for, how to negotiate contracts, 2 offers - which one should they take? How to handle issues with their supervisors and sometimes employees, how to manage performance, how to deal with conflict in the workplace etc. I became a sounding board for all career related issues to my friends and their friends. They would send me emails asking how to handle sensitive career related issues? They would send me job descriptions and ask if it was worth applying and whether they are a good fit for the job. Initially I did it in my free time but as the positive feedback grew on how my insights and advice led to desired and sometimes life changing outcomes, I decided to make a career out of it. Words cannot describe the immense satisfaction I feel when I contribute to people achieving their career goals. This has always been a passion of mine and that’s how HUMHR was born!” I also have a natural ability to quickly match people with the right jobs which makes me an asset during high volume recruitment drives when organizations need that "extra pair of hands
