I currently serve as the Senior Scientist/ Lead Microbiologist at the H-E-B Metrix360 Laboratories. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Texas San Antonio and a Master of Science degree in Food Science from Kansas State University where my research focused on novel techniques for the reduction of Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes and E. coli O157:H7 on produce. I have 15 years of food laboratory experience in a national ISO 17025 high volume laboratory network where I served in technical leadership positions in addition to gaining extensive hands on pathogen testing experience. My technical roles have included operations management, technical / quality management and corporate training. I am HACCP, BRC and SQF certified as well as being a skilled analytical scientist with a background in microbiological and chemical analyses.
