Shannon Dale

I have a Master of Science Degree in Counseling and Student Personnel with an emphasis in College Student Affairs. As a Student Success Manager, I partnered with a diverse group of students, instructional teams, and leadership through the University of Minnesota Boot Camps powered by EdX. Students and alumni met with me to discuss career goals, success strategies, and goal setting. As a Career Coach for Capella University, I offer support to learners and alumni from all backgrounds during their pursuit of a degree and beyond. Previously, I was Program Administrator for The Annexstad Family Foundation. I made lasting connections with bright and driven scholars that were often first generation college students overcoming challenges. The mission driven work was a success as I formed a sense of community virtually and in person through collaborations with partners at a variety of prestigious universities across the United States. Previous experiences in Higher Education include working 2 years as a graduate assistant career counselor in the Career Development Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato (MNSU). During my internship at New Student and Family programs at MNSU, I did academic advising for students facing warning or suspension and co-taught a First Year Experience course for students that were choosing, changing, or undecided about their major. I have also worked for AmeriCorps as a Jumpstart Team Leader, providing literacy programming through MNSU. These experiences illustrate my passion to work with college students in a variety of capacities, including my previous work as an educator in the Early Childhood Education field.
