Evidence reads a performance review, 360 feedback, project report, award or client testimonial and pulls out what it says about your work, one claim at a time. You keep, edit or discard each item, and what you keep backs every CV rewrite that follows.
Why does a CV checker flag things that are true?
Because it can only check against what your CV already says. JobMentis checks every rewrite for claims and figures it cannot trace, so nothing invented reaches an employer. A two-page CV holds a fraction of your record, though, so a real result that never made it onto the page reads as unsourced until something proves it.

You check every item
Keep it, edit the wording, or discard it. Items you never review are deleted after 30 days.
It backs your CV
A kept item becomes a confirmed fact: the claim check treats it as sourced, and every writer, from the CV rewrite to the cover letter, can use it.
What stops Evidence from inventing something about you?
Code has the last word, not the model. An item that states a figure your document does not contain is dropped before you see it, a quote that cannot be found in the document is removed, and nothing is kept until you keep it.
- Figures are matched against the document, so 22% stays 22%, and a figure written two ways still matches.
- Every quote is checked word for word against the source. One that is not there is removed, and the item marked for a closer look.
- Something your CV already says is marked as confirmed by the document instead of being added twice.
- Keeping an item never overwrites a fact you had already confirmed, and undo only removes what that keep added.
What does Evidence never take from a document?
A performance review says more than what you achieved. These are left out on purpose, not flagged for later:
- Pay, bonuses, raises and equity
- Leave, absence, health and family circumstances
- Improvement plans, warnings and criticism
- Other people's performance, and anyone's name
Pay is excluded for a second reason too: what you keep feeds the CV and cover-letter writers, and a salary figure must never end up in either.

What happens to the document itself?
An uploaded file is deleted as soon as it has been read. Until you finish reviewing, a copy of its text is kept with email addresses, links, phone numbers and personal-detail lines removed, for 7 days at most. After that, only the items you kept remain.
- You agree to a short statement before your first document, recorded with its version.
- Only add what you are free to share: some documents belong to your employer.
- Text is read by Gemini on Google Cloud in the EU, with Anthropic's Claude as a fallback. Scanned documents are read by Gemini only.
- Remove any kept item, or delete your whole account, at any time.
Questions about Evidence
Can I use my performance review on my CV?
You can state your own achievements and results from it: that is your work. Share the document itself, or figures your employer treats as confidential, only if your contract allows it. Evidence helps with the first part: it pulls out the claims, not the document.
Is Evidence free?
Pasting text is free for 3 documents a month. Uploading files, including scans and photos, is part of Pro and has no monthly limit.
Do you keep my performance review?
No. An uploaded file is deleted once it has been read. A copy of the text, with contact details removed, is kept only until you finish reviewing, and 7 days at most. What stays is the items you chose to keep.
Which documents work best?
Documents someone else wrote about your work: an annual review, a 360 summary, a project closure report, an award or promotion message, a client testimonial. Three to five good ones do more than twenty.
Can Evidence make up a figure for my CV?
No. Code drops any item whose figure is not in your document, and nothing is used until you keep it. A kept item lets a true figure stand in a rewrite; it never writes new ones.
How is this different from pasting my review into ChatGPT?
A chat reads it once and forgets it. Evidence keeps what you confirmed in your Career Memory, checks every figure and quote against the document, and grounds every later rewrite and letter in it.
